This 1982 Land Rover 109 Series III is a left-hand-drive station wagon that was produced by Metalúrgica de Santa Ana S.A. in Spain. Finished in white over black upholstery, it features a vented hardtop and a Roamerdrive mechanical overdrive unit. Power comes from a 2.25-liter diesel inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The truck was imported to the US before it was acquired by its current owner in 2021. This Series III Santana is offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in New Jersey with a clean California title in the owner’s name.
Late examples of the Series III are distinguished by their front clip with a longer hood and a grille that is flush with the headlights. Other exterior details include a vented fiberglass hardtop, roll-down side windows, and a single-pane windshield with three wipers. Areas of bubbling paint and corrosion are noted, and close-up photos of the body panels and trim are shown in the gallery below.
The truck rides on a 109″ wheelbase with leaf-sprung suspension, and 16″ steel wheels are mounted with Deestone bias-ply tires. A rear mudflap that is missing in some of the photos was reattached in preparation for the sale.
The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in damaged black vinyl with cloth inserts, while seats in the rear of the nine-passenger cabin are trimmed with black vinyl. The selling dealer reports some leaks into the interior.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts the instrument cluster, which has a 150-km/h speedometer with a five-digit odometer showing 93k kilometers (~58k miles).
The 2.25-liter diesel inline-four sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case with an aftermarket Roamerdrive overdive unit. The selling dealer replaced fuel lines in preparation for the sale.
Additional underside photos are provided below.
The vehicle has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair or Air Resources Board, and it cannot be sold to a California private party buyer.
