This 1998 Suzuki Wagon R FX-T is a Japanese-market example that was brought to the US under prior ownership and was acquired by the seller on BaT in December 2024. Subsequent work is said to have included installing Cusco dampers, mounting replacement tires, and replacing the CV axles, braking components, and battery. The kei car is finished in Silky Silver Metallic and is powered by a turbocharged 657cc inline-three that sends power to the front wheels via a three-speed automatic transaxle. It rides on 13″ steel wheels and is further equipped with anti-lock brakes, a hood scoop, roof rails, air conditioning, a cassette player, and front bucket seats trimmed in patterned gray cloth. This Wagon R is offered at no reserve in California with spare parts and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The Wagon R began production in Japan in 1993 with the “R” standing for “Revolution and Relaxation” and the car utilizing a high-roof configuration. This second-generation example is finished in Silky Silver Metallic (Z2S) and features a hood scoop, window rain guards, roof rails, and a rear window wiper. The power adjustment for the side mirrors does not work, and noted flaws include a scratched front bumper cover, a missing trim piece on the left mirror base, and a ding on the left rear door as well as rust along the body.

Steel 13″ wheels wear scratched plastic covers, and they were mounted with 155/65 Haida tires under current ownership. The car is equipped with a front sway bar, and Cusco dampers have been installed. Anti-lock braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the seller reports the brake pads and shoes were replaced under current ownership.

The right-hand-drive cabin features seating surfaces trimmed in patterned gray cloth that extends to the door panel armrests. Rubberized floor mats line the footwells, and appointments include air conditioning, a cassette player, power windows, and a storage compartment located under the front passenger seat bottom. The glovebox lid separates from its hinges while opening intermittently, and the radio does not receive US stations. Blemishes are noted on the driver’s seat back and floor mat along with the headliner, dashboard, and passenger B-pillar trim.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges monitoring coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 37k kilometers (~23k miles), approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership. The ignition cylinder was replaced in 2024.

The turbocharged 657cc F6A inline-three features electronic fuel injection and is equipped with a top-mount intercooler. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the front wheels via a three-speed automatic transaxle. The CV axles were replaced under current ownership according to the seller. Corrosion is noted on underside components, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.

Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with spare parts and multiple keys.
The vehicle has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair or Air Resources Board, and it has not passed a California smog test.
