Sensex, Nifty updates on 24 Sept 2025: Indian equities fell for the fourth straight session on Wednesday, their longest losing run since mid-July, as worries over U.S. visa curbs continued to pressure sentiment. The BSE Sensex dropped 386 points to close at 81,715, while the NSE Nifty fell 112 points to 25,056. Except FMCG, all Nifty indices closed lower, led by auto (-1.2%) and IT (-0.7%). The Nifty has shed 1.4% over four sessions, while the Sensex is down 1.6%. Investor concerns deepened after the U.S. imposed a $100,000 fee on new H-1B visa applications, hitting Indian IT firms reliant on U.S. contracts. The IT index has lost 4.3% this week, wiping out ₹1.2 lakh crore in market value. Broader markets mirrored the weakness, with smallcaps down 0.7% and midcaps down 1%. On the BSE, losers outnumbered gainers, with 2,562 stocks declining. Tata Motors fell 2.6% on extended JLR plant closures.

· The Fed’s favourite inflation indicator, the August PCE index, and future comments by other Fed members will now be the focus of attention in search of additional clues.
· Gold also found support in the current geopolitical tensions, as NATO warned that it will take “all necessary military and non-military measures” to protect Estonian airspace after Russia recently violated it, calling it part of “a pattern of increasingly irresponsible behaviour.”
Technical Triggers
· All targets achieved in Gold at $3800 and Silver at Rs 135,000. Now it’s time to book profits and stay cautious. This rally seems overbought and overdone. We can expect a price retracement anytime soon. If gold prices sustain falls below $3780 and Silver below $44, we can see sharp sell-offs.

SEBI has streamlined the process of appointing nominee. The nominee acts as a Trustee of the securities of the original security holder and transfers the securities to the legal heir as per succession plan.
As per the existing procedure for effecting such transfers, the nominee, while transferring the securities to legal heir, may get assessed for capital gains tax. Payment of tax by the nominee in such a situation may not be appropriate considering that in terms of clause (iii) of Section 47 of the Income Tax Act, 1961,such transmission is exempted and not considered as “transfer”. While the nominee may claim refund of such tax, this process causes inconvenience to the nominee.
3. In order to alleviate this inconvenience, a Working Group, based on engagement with the Central Board of Direct Taxes recommended that to address the issue, reporting entities should use the reason code “TLH” (i.e. Transmission to Legal Heirs), while reporting such transactions to the CBDT.
