WASHINGTON (AP) — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine won’t enter peace talks with Russia until it has security guarantees against another offensive. Zelenskyy added Friday’s contentious spat with President Donald Trump was “not good for both sides.” But Zelenskyy said that Trump — who insists Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to end the three-year grinding war — needs to understand that Ukraine can’t change attitudes toward Russia on a dime.

NO ONE can make a guarantee like that..Trump cant make that guarantee and neither can ANY Democrat unless they put troops on the ground in Ukraine FOREVER and that is NEVER EVER going to happen. No one can say that after Trump leaves office that Putin wouldn’t invade again..if Zelenskyy wants OUR military on the ground in Ukraine he can go suck a lemon

“....Ukraine can’t change attitudes toward Russia on a dime”.
Attitudes? You either want peace or you don’t. You either want to end the war or not. Z needs to check his “attitude” at the door next time... assuming there will be a next time.

The ONLY security guarantee he’s going to get comes from Russia.
The are the only country in the world CAPABLE of the job, given the location and Russia’s 7,500 nukes.
It’s silly to think otherwise.

Obviously Z’s suffering from a serious delusional episode, thinking he has some kind of authority.

The U.S. agreed to secure Ukraine against foreign invasion when it gave up its nukes with the Budapest Memorandum. Did you forget that promise, or does the U.S. not keep its promises now?

It will be entertaining to see him get promises from Europe only to then find out Europe rarely lives up to financial support and NEVER lives up to military support promised.
He is running out of men to fight and will be asking for troops. I just don’t see Europe putting troops into Ukraine’s active war.

Give it a rest, that was not some kind of mutual defense treaty. Ukraine should have not prodded Russia to begin with.
The corrupt government there went out pf their way to poke the bear and now we are supposed to destroy our precious resources for that grift?
Go beg Europe to do it’s part for a change if it is so important.

On another note, I see you have no problem with that rude wanna be dictator coming to America’s house, insulting us and acting like we owe him money.
Disgusting

I must have been asleep the day the Senate ratified it.

security guarantees = US Troops on the ground, making Ukraine a de facto NATO member.

Maybe those would be included in the peace talks.

We are not going to give him security guarantees. PERIOD.
I want to know where the money went. Did it go into the pockets of the military industrial complex? We need to find out.
If the Europeans want to do that they can have one of the two things. Let Ukraine into NATO, but without the US in NATO.
