President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance called Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy disrespectful during their White House meeting Friday over bringing an end to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Trump told Zelenskyy he was being disrespectful in his push for U.S. security commitments to keep his country safe from further Russian aggression.

"You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people," Trump said. "You're gambling with World War III, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have."

"Your people are very brave, but, you're either going to make a deal, or we're out. And if we're out, you'll fight it out," Trump added. Zelenskyy stirred Trump's responses by insisting that promises of peace from Vladimir Putin can’t be trusted, noting the Russian leader’s history of broken promises. Trump said Putin hasn’t broken agreements with him.

“You’ve got to be more thankful,” Trump told Zelenskyy.

Trump chided Zelenskyy after Vice President JD Vance, one of the administration’s most skeptical voices on Ukraine, said Zelenskyy was being disrespectful for debating Trump in the Oval Office in front of the American media.

“Have you said ‘thank you’ once?” Vance asked Zelenskyy.

Meanwhile,  Trump told Zelenskyy that Ukrainian soldiers have been unbelievably brave and talked up an economic agreement between their two countries.

“It is a big commitment from the United States,” Trump said. He added that the United States has little of the rare earth minerals that are abundant in Ukraine, and says those resources will support uses in the U.S. including artificial intelligence and military weapons.

Zelenskyy talked up the prospect for liquid natural gas exports to Europe, but disagreed when Trump repeated his claim that Europe “did much less” than the United States to support Ukraine against Russia.

We are also gambling with world war 3 by letting Russia over run other countries. In the end they are going to have to be dealt with and if you don’t think we are going to be involved....

I wish - just once - Zelensky would have to answer as to why he who criminalized his political opposition, banned churches, tortured and killed US journalist Lira Gonzales, and hosted biolabs allegedly developing bioweapons to target Russian DNA should not also be considered a terrorist, with whom there should be no negotiation.

And to be truthful, the Biden regime was also a terrorist organization and should never be negotiated with. We’re just now trying to convince all those who did business with that criminal, murderous regime that there is new management; Saruman has fallen and his filth is being washed away.

“ but disagreed when Trump repeated his claim that Europe “did much less” than the United States to support Ukraine against Russia.”

His “claim”? WTH is that Newsmax? Take a look at the numbers not the EU a-holes making speeches.

The only way WW3 is a gamble is if it’s a possibility. I believe Trump is signaling to Putin that WW3 is possible because Trump will engage in WW3. In other words he tells Z that he may cause WW3 but it also tells Putin that there could be a WW3 which is only possible if the US fights it.

Then today Trump reups sanctions on Russia. Z got a tongue lashing but Putin got real consequences. Dang, I love this prez.

Big difference between now and 1939.

When Hitler invaded Poland, even though Britain and France were allied with Poland, there were no British or French troops on Polish soil, only Polish troops.

With NATO, our troops are already in those countries.

I have no problem with Ukraine serving as a buffer between NATO and Russia and being neutral. But I only make that pledge of no NATO for Ukraine when the Russians leave Ukraine.

And whatever applies to Ukraine, must also apply to Belarus.

We may have to have some boots on the ground in the disputed regions to keep Ukrainians and Russians from going at each others throats. But the rights of both Ukrainians and Russians in those regions must be respected.

You don’t consider the US ousting the Russia-friendly elected Ukrainian government to install Zelensky - and Kamala Harris insisting that Ukraine be included in NATO - a provocation to Russia? Ukraine was supposed to be neutral ground.

Anybody who thinks the US has been the good guys in the world at this point has their head in the sand.

Dictator and anti-Orthodox Christian tyrant Zelenskyy needs to flee to some mansion here in the USA, and let someone else make peace with Russia!

He doesn’t have Noodlehead to back him anymore!

Trump knows that to be a peace-keeper you have to gain the trust of both sides. Have to prove yourself impartial.

The world doesn’t want to let him do that. But he keeps working at it.

And he was right: Zelensky is not ready to do what it takes to make peace. He still thinks the US’s job is to let him WIN. That’s not how you do peace-making.

After all the crap Zelensky has given Trump - all the lawfare, all the corruption to the Bidens, all the USAID theft, etc and all of it headed toward 2 assassination attempts on Trump as the Deep State allies of Zelensky try to keep their cabal going - Trump would simply be out for revenge if he was a smaller man. But he genuinely wants to save lives.

Imagine that.

? No, that would be Europe.

UK and France have nukes, so there could be a WWIII even if the US sits it out.

Imagine if even one of the leaders prior to the Great War, had the clarity to warn the others what might befall them.

Russia is an aggressive thug that never played by the rules. and they have never had peaceful intentions except when Yeltsin ran the country. When they invaded Ukraine a cold calculated act of aggression everything was off.

I do not know where this will all end, but the Bible is pretty clear that eventually it will end in war. Okay, but much will happen between now and then and much MUST happen before then.

Diplomacy MUST have a chance and it would seem Trump is looking for an economic reason to have the US involved rather than a military reason. This is his wheelhouse and a far better foundation than sending in observers and peacekeepers. That’s how Viet Nam began under Kennedy. I would prefer to not repeat history. However, due to the GREAT disparity in funding between the US and all other countries funding Ukraine, should blood and boots be required, let it be from Europe. Their cries are the most strident. Their funding the most lacking. And their backyard the closest. If they can’t pay for it in cold hard cash, let them pay for it in red hot blood. It also might cool their ardor for war. Personally, I would make it a condition of I migration to fight for their adopted country.

EU Values. That’s why. The Nazi’s have actually taken over 93 years later. Facism rules. Freedom of speech is outlawed and so is prayer. Even the Nazi’s did not outlaw religon.

You missed /s tag, right?

To: amnestynone

I presume that means you don’t consider it a provocation.

We’ll remember that if Russia does the same right back then.

To: butterdezillion

The only provocation is Russia attacking sovereign countries just as they always have. Russia is a dangerous, predatory and aggressive country bent on invading other countries just as they have always been. They are the provocators not Ukraine. We are there to prevent Russia from continuing their aggressive ways and doing further provocations. We are trying to stop an enemy aggressor who through their agression are the sole possible cuases of a world war.
