Modified 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC

This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC was registered in California through the current owner’s purchase in 2022. A subsequent multi-year build by Aspard Garage of Los Angeles, California, included the installation of a 5.4-liter M113 V8, seven-speed automatic transmission, limited-slip differential, instrument cluster, automatic climate controls, and engine management, braking, and suspension components that were sourced from a 2009 SLK55 AMG. The body was modified with flared metal fenders and AMG-style bumpers and side skirts, and additional details include European-specification headlights, a fabricated exhaust system, 18″ three-piece AMG-style wheels, power-adjustable front seats, an adjustable steering column, central locking, and a touchscreen Alpine head unit with Apple CarPlay connectivity. This black-over-black C126 560SEC is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a build sheet, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

Custom-fabricated 18″ AMG-style three-piece wheels are mounted with staggered-width Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires that were recently installed. The front and rear subframes were transferred from the donor SLK55 AMG along with the suspension and brake components. The donor car’s ABS/ESP module was also fitted, and silver AMG-branded calipers are featured up front.

Matching upholstery extends to the dashboard, door panels, and rear seats. Further appointments include gloss-black interior trim, R171-specification climate controls, seat position memory settings, central locking, and a touchscreen Alpine head unit with Apple CarPlay connectivity. The reupholstered trunk is equipped with a concealed storage compartment below the floor.

The four-spoke AMG steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable column, and it fronts a retrofitted cluster that is said to have been sourced from the donor car that supplied the driveline. Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a clock, a fuel level gauge, and a digital display. The digital odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
